Mocha Mint Coffee

If you’re anything like me you enjoy chocolate and coffee, especially when they’re combined. I came across this recipe for Mocha Mint Coffee from Taste of Home and thought it would be a great drink to try out. When it gets to be this time of year and the temperature dips, warm drinks are a must-have in the tailgating lot. It’s extremely simple to put together and is full of mint chocolatey flavor. I ended up deviating from the original recipe, opting to replace the mint chocolate chips with Dove Dark Chocolate & Mint Swirls. In addition, the measurements listed are for a single batch but I doubled the recipe to accommodate more people, using a 6 quart Crock-Pot.

If you really want to kick this up a notch, add in some peppermint schnapps to the finished product. This was a big hit amongst the guests that tried it out and it’s bound to be a favorite in the tailgating lot on a cold, breezy day!

Mocha Mint Coffee

Yields: 8 servings | Prep Time: 10 minutes | Cook Time: 2 hours | Total Time: 2 hours 10 minutes

 

Directions

First: In a 3-qt. slow cooker, combine the first 5 ingredients together. Cover and cook, on low until hot, which should be 2-3 hours.

Second: Ladle into your preferred cup of choice. Top with mini marshmallows; sprinkle with cinnamon (optional) and/or add peppermint schnapps (also optional).
